My Priorities

1.  Get Californians Back to Work.  We need to end the needless regulations, red-tape and fees that are driving jobs out of the state. Small and medium businesses, which create the majority of new jobs, need to be encouraged to grow.  Government and business should be partners, not adversaries, as we strive to dig out of this recession.

2.  Stop Growing Government.  California’s annual budget “crisis” is caused by the legislature spending too much, not taxing too little. We need to adopt a government spending limit to stop the Legislature from growing government faster than inflation and population.

3. Invest in the Important Things.  Spending restraint does not mean we can’t invest in the important things.  Keeping us safe and providing our children with the education they deserve for a bright future should be the highest priorities for state government.

4. Reduce the Tax Burden on Small Businesses, Working Families and Retirees. High taxes harm everyone, especially families and retirees trying to make ends meet and small businesses struggling to keep their doors open. California’s high tax rates should be reduced, not raised.
