Democrats Drop below 40%

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, February 1, 2012

CORONA, CA – - Republicans have picked up a net increase of 1,944 new registrations in the battleground 31st Senate District since November 1st, while Democrats added a paltry 270 to their numbers. According to the Secretary of State’s official report released yesterday, the district now stands at 39.7 DEM and 36.7 REP.

“The trend in the 31st district is clearly toward Republicans, as voters and potential voters start to focus on the 2012 election,” said GOP consultant Dave Gilliard, who is running Jeff Miller’s campaign. “While Sacramento Democrats have been scrambling to even find a viable candidate, Republicans have hit the ground and done the hard work needed to set the stage for a Miller victory in November.”

The new 31st Senate District is entirely in the County of Riverside, and includes the cities of Corona, Norco, Riverside, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley, Eastvale and Perris.

Jeff Miller represents the western portion of the new Senate district in the State Assembly. Miller is the former Mayor of Corona and a long-time business owner in Riverside

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, December 12, 2011

(CORONA, CA) – 31st Senate district candidate Jeff Miller (R-Corona) announced the endorsement of the Riverside County Sheriffs’ Association today, the same day the Press-Enterprise reported that Sacramento Democrats are still searching for a candidate in the race.

In their letter to Assemblyman Miller endorsing his candidacy, Pat McNamara, President of the Riverside Sheriffs’ Association, said the decision to endorse Miller was “an easy one.” He cited Miller’s “unyielding commitment to public safety and law enforcement concerns” along with his “devotion to the welfare of law enforcement professionals, including surviving family members.”

“We have been working hard and I am very honored to have the support of the sheriff deputies who risk their lives on a daily basis to keep us all safe,” said Miller.

Today, the Press-Enterprise reported that Sacramento Democrats are still searching for a candidate they can support in the 31st district and noted that the only announced Democrat party candidate, ex-Assemblyman Steve Clute, has failed to garner any significant support.

“Jeff Miller brings vast experience as a small business owner and local elected official,” said Miller’s consultant Dave Gilliard. “He has the respect of community leaders because they know how hard he works for the district, while staying true to his fiscally conservative principles.”

The new 31st Senate District is entirely in the County of Riverside, and includes the cities of Corona, Norco, Riverside, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley, Eastvale and Perris.
Jeff Miller is the former Mayor of Corona and a long-time business owner in Riverside County.

(CORONA, CA) – Jeff Miller announced receiving the endorsement of Supervisor John Benoit in his campaign for California’s newly drawn 31st Senate District today. Supervisor Benoit is the third Riverside County Supervisor to add his name to the growing list of endorsements. Miller has already received the endorsements of Supervisors John Tavaglione and Marion Ashley, giving him a majority of the board for next year’s election.

“With Jeff, voters know exactly what they are going to get because they can look at what he has accomplished already,” said Benoit. “He successfully runs his own business and balances the books. Couple that with his long distinguished career of public service, he is the type of person our government needs right now. He has firsthand experience of what grows a business and creates jobs. That’s why Riverside needs him in Sacramento fighting for us.”

The new 31st Senate District is entirely in the County of Riverside, and includes the cities of Corona, Norco, Riverside, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley, Eastvale and Perris. Previously, Miller represented approximately 30 percent of the new 31st Senate District through his public service as Mayor of Corona and as a Member of the State Assembly.

Miller currently lives and operates his business in Corona with his wife.

CORONA, CA – - State Senate Republican Caucus Chairman, Senator Bob Huff, today endorsed Jeff Miller for State Senate in the new 31st Senate District. Huff is widely expected to be the next Senate Minority Leader when the current leader, Senator Bob Dutton, steps down.

“I am very grateful to receive the endorsement of Senator Bob Huff, said Miller. “We share a common background, both coming from the business world and getting involved in public service because we saw a need for a common sense, business perspective in government.”

Miller said his focus in the Senate will be on jobs and getting California’s economy moving again.

“The costs of doing business in California are too high and coupled with our punitive regulatory policies, the state has created a dismal job-creation environment. This must be changed if we are going to get our workers back on the job,” said Miller.

(CORONA, CA) – Assemblyman Jeff Miller, announced receiving the endorsement of three high profile leaders in his campaign for California’s 31st Senate District. Each of the leaders represents portions of Riverside County and the new 31st Senate District.

Senate Republican Leader Bob Dutton, Senator Bill Emmerson and Assemblyman Paul Cook, all threw their support behind Jeff Miller in his campaign to represent the newly formed Senate district.

“It’s an honor to have the support of these leaders representing our community in Sacramento,” said Miller. “These legislators are in Sacramento working on legislation to get this economy back on the right track and I want to bring my experience and ideas to the Senate so we can get things moving in the right direction.”

In his endorsement Senator Dutton said, “Jeff is a guy who understands what it takes to create jobs. He runs a successful business and he has experience creating legislation that will boost our economic growth. Most of the liberal legislators here in Sacramento don’t understand the need to reduce government regulation, reduce the tax burden on California’s citizens and businesses and reduce energy costs to spur economic growth. Jeff understands all of these things, and that’s why we need him in the Senate.”

The new 31st Senate District is entirely in the County of Riverside, and includes the cities of Corona, Norco, Riverside, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley, Eastvale and Perris.

Miller is the former Mayor of Corona and a long-time business owner.
